The Tale of Two Bailouts

This is the story about two bailout countries in the EU: Spain and Ireland. Their respective bailouts were not structured the same, but they were very close in timing and amounts offered. I don't want to call this an experiment because it has no real controls. However, we can learn a few lessons from these countries and how they each go about addressing their economic woes.

All over Central America and the Caribbean you find a specialty dish that each country owns as their own. Here on the Guanacaste Coast, the "Casado" is one of the staples that you find in every restaurant, bar, shack, hut and sometimes even served out of a car trunk.

Living, visiting or passing through Costa Rica, one will never be disappointed with the natural beauty of this country. Boasting miles and miles of beaches colored pink, white, beige and black, one finds themselves lost in endless relaxation. Both coasts, East and West, are hotspots for picture perfect places where the rainforest reaches the oceans.

Once you step through the coastal doors and head inland, Costa Rica is rich in diverse landscapes from volcanoes to hot springs to fresh water rivers and wildlife. It is no wonder that this country led the way for eco tourism and now has regulations ensuring that 33% of its lands remain in park and protected status.

Belize No. 7 Tourism Brand in Central America

According to Bloom Consulting Country Brand Ranking © 2014 Tourism Edition, this year Belize has remained on the 7th position in the region of Central America followed by its main rivals Nicaragua (8th) and Guyana (9th). Belize ranks #30 in the Americas List.

The research indicates that Belize is performing very modest in all the variables; however, the best results are related to the field of digital demand by having a rather high number of online searches in terms of tourism. Also the growth rates in international tourism receipts and arrivals show low rates because the country is not advertising itself enough online.
