Precious Timber – Nature’s Very Own IRA

David J. Drummond

When asked, Albert Einstein stated that the most powerful force in the universe was compound interest; nuclear reaction – no; compound interest – yes. And if you tried this experiment as a kid you would quickly realize just what he was stating. Simply take a calculator and start with one penny; now double that penny 30 times. The final number is astounding -- over 10 million dollars. Now, let's play the same game but factor in the influence of the bureaucratic system. After you double the number, subtract 40% to represent taxes on the gain. The new number, after the same 30 days, will result in just over $65,000. That's right 10M or 65K; which would you prefer?

China v the US = Strategy v Tragedy

Kelly Diamond, Publisher

While the United States is fixated on some new tribe of rebels in Iraq and Syria, China just swooped by and surpassed the United States twenty-seven ways to Sunday. As I've mentioned in nearly every single article to do with China, they are and have been playing a strategic game of Go, while the United States is playing a tragic game of Connect Four with 42 different colors.

First off, I think this says something about how meaningless labels can be. On the surface, a Communist country surpassed a Capitalist one. But China's economic behavior and worth ethic is anything but Communist. And the American economic behavior and ethic is anything but Capitalistic.

Landmark Ruling in European Union Means Big Things for Rare Strategic Metals

In the race to save the world from global climate change, every country is scrambling to out legislate the next. And force new green technology into existence. Whether you believe in manmade global warming or not, it's time to sit up and take notice. There's still time to get in on the ground floor of this game changing technological wave.

The European Union (EU) just signed a landmark deal aimed at saving the world from greenhouse gasses.

And according to Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the European Council, it's the most ambitious climate change agreement ever reached.

Four Countries that welcome American Retirees

Yahoo Finance

Some countries roll out the welcome mat for foreign retirees, offering sometimes significant tax breaks, in-country discounts and other perks to anyone who qualifies for resident retiree status. The age you qualify as a retiree can have a broad definition, depending on where you go. For example, in Belize you can qualify for retirement residency and the associated perks as young as 45, and Panama has no stated minimum age requirement for its Gold Standard retiree residency program.
