Another Successful Summit in Belize

Rachel Jensen

This week, Hemispheres Publishing hosted its 13th Annual Global Asset Protection Symposium on the paradisiacal Belizean island, Ambergris Caye. With support from our sponsors, Escape Artist, Capstone Capital Advisors and Caye Bank, this event successfully hosted over 80 people.

This illuminating event opened on the evening of Saturday, November 2nd with a beachside cocktail party, and welcome words from the Mayor of San Pedro, Mayor Danny. The evening progressed with cooler temperatures, delicious local Belizean cuisine, and many smiles and laughs.

For three information-packed days, attendees and presenters alike listened to experts in their fields as they discussed various overseas investments and strategies to protect and grow their wealth. With topics ranging from international banking to the next biggest cellular phone to overseas residency options, this symposium covered many imperative topics.

Michael Cobb, CEO of ECI Development, kicked off the presentations on Sunday morning after an inspirational worship service from Pastor Ian of Living Word. The Pastor spoke of the importance of giving back and keeping faith in the business world. The day continued with presentations from Georgetown Trust, Karslberg Insurance, Advisor Ink, Clover Investment Advisors, and others. EscapeArtist concluded the day with a lively presentation encouraging folks to follow their passion, whether it is working, playing, retiring, investing, or living overseas. They reminded us that the world is our playground, and to take advantage of the opportunities that live around us. Cocktails at Crazy Canuck's and a delicious dinner at Hidden Treasure followed.

Sunset Rooftop Party at Caye Financial Centre

Our Name Sponsor, Capstone Capital Advisors, opened on Monday with an instructive presentation explaining the benefits of life insurance. Presentations continued by The Owings Group, Real Wealth Investment, ForceField Energy, Georgetown Trust, Tunive, and the infamous Peter Zipper of Caye International Bank and expert international business attorney, Joel Nagel of Nagel & Associates. As the sun was setting over the Caribbean waters, the attendees and speakers united on the rooftop of Caye Financial Centre for live music and a cocktail party sponsored by Capstone Capital Advisors. After the sunset, the group continued into San Pedro Town for a flavorful dinner at the oceanfront Blue Water Grille and a special visit from Minister Heredia, Minister of Culture and Tourism in Belize.

On Tuesday, exciting opportunities in the Latin American region were introduced to the group, including the Teak for Residency Program in Panama and a triple net lease program in Belize. We also heard from Global Wealth Protection, Xcellimark, and ECI Development. The afternoon continued with a party on the beach, Grand Baymen community tours, and one-on-one meetings for the presenters and attendees. The group reconvened for a farewell dinner at Caprice, a beachfront restaurant serving only the freshest and most delectable meals.

The conference officially closed on Wednesday with a round table discussion. This is one of the most beneficial sessions of the conference with the reason being speakers and attendees come together to openly discuss what they learned, their proposed strategies to take action for the future, and what concerns they may have about the upcoming times. It's an opportunity for these like-minded individuals to express their opinions and learn what their fellow conference-goers have on their minds. Hemispheres Publishing intentionally keeps conferences small for this reason – it allows for all to build relationships and to communicate honestly.

The fun continued after the conference with a snorkeling trip in the largest reef in the Western Hemisphere, located only one quarter of a mile from the shores of Ambergris Caye. Speakers and attendees swam with the nurse sharks, stingrays, and many other species of colorful marine life. After this event, some individuals left the island to return home to share their newly acquired knowledge, while others stayed around to further explore the island or to meet with speakers.

With many new propositions and laws coming into affect in 2014, including ObamaCare and FATCA, you can anticipate a large increase in your taxes and the continued loss of your financial freedom. These changes are monumental, and will undoubtedly affect your lifestyle --- so why not take control of your life while you have the opportunity? If it makes sense to you, be sure to mark your calendar for our next session in Costa Rica, February 1-5, 2014. As a Hemispheres Publishing Reader, you will be offered a special pre-registration opportunity at the end of the month. With the number of seats being limited and high interest in this Pura Vida region, we encourage you to take advantage of the offer and join us in a few months. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

If you have any questions or thoughts about the conferences (such as any suggestions for where you'd like to see an event, the speakers, etc) or the changes ahead, contact me and we'll discuss what's on your mind. Rachel@ecidevelopment.com, or (914) 364-1126. I look forward to hearing from you.
