Is Your Water Safe?
More and more every day I hear about problems with Municipal Water and Well Water Contaminates. On the News last evening on Channel 3 they did a piece on Restaurants in Madison that will start charging for Water and give the proceeds to Charities. Will it be long before all restaurants start charging for Water? In California some Restaurants are already selling and promoting Alkaline Water.
In Sun Prairie, Wisconsin at Herb Wellness, LLC 1708 Sunfield St. which opened last month, they are selling Alkaline Water for $2 per Gallon. The Safety of Filtered Alkaline Water is not to be taken lightly.
In Municipal Waters traces of Prescription Drugs and Heavy metals have been found across the country. The machine that I have filters out Heavy Metals, Chlorine, Fluoride, Nitrates and Nitrites. Volitile Organics are also filtered out as well as Prescription Drugs. Preservatives, Pesticides and Herbicides.
Reporters from the Associated Press’ National Investigative Team reviewed hundreds of scientific reports. Federal databases and environmental studies and interviewed more than 230 officials, academics and scientists and private water suppliers in all 50 states. Following this exhaustive project, it was concluded that a surprising number of pharmaceuticals have been found in water supplies across the United States.
Partial Findings:
The following is a partial list of what the Investigative Team uncovered:
- Philadelphia: 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in treated drinking water, including medicines for pain, infection, high cholesterol, asthma, epilepsy and lots of others.
- Southern California: Anti-epileptic and anti-anxiety medications were detected in a portion of the treated drinking water for 18.5 million people.
- Northern New Jersey: Drinking water treatment plant, which serves 850,000 people, found a metabolized angina medicine and the mood-stabilizing carbamazepine in the drinking water.
- San Francisco: A sex hormone was detected in the drinking water.
- Tucson AZ: Three medications, including an antibiotic, were found in the
drinking water.
There is NO Federal Government mandate for municipalities and well owners to test for pharmaceuticals in water, nor have the Agencies set any maximum contaminant levels.
The common water quality tests available through certified quality labs would not even detect small levels of pharmaceutical contaminants. NSF (www.nsf.org ) the gold standard private water quality certifying organization in the USA has not established a standard for the testing of these contaminants. Of the 62 major water providers contacted by the Investigated Team, the drinking water for only 28 was tested. Among the 34 that haven’t: Houston, Chicago, Miami, Baltimore, Phoenix, Boston and New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection, which delivers water to 9 million people.
What is at Risk?
Researchers do not as yet understand the exact risks associated with constant exposure to low levels of pharmaceuticals. Some studies have uncovered dangerous effects both in animals and humans. At a conference last summer, Mary Buzby – Director of Environmental Technology for drug maker Merck & Company, Inc. , said “ There is no doubt about it, pharmaceuticals are being detected in the environment and there is concern that these compounds, in the small concentrations they are at, could be causing impacts to human health or to aquatic organisms.” The reaction of the Federal Govnnment is : “We recognize it is a growing concern and we’re taking it very seriously,” said Benjamin H. Grumbles, assistant administrator for water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The AlkalViva Machines filters almost all of the above pharmaceuticals while providing the highest ph levels in this Industry with next generation technology provided by Samsung who manufactures these machines under the watchful eye of their engineers.
Test Results are available for review at 1708 Sunfield St. Sun Prairie, WI.
I am available by appointment at those offices to show the tests or Test your Water.
Among the highest ORP levels in the Industry are recorded with the New Vesta & Athena Machines. (ORP) Is Oxygen Reduction Potential. This measures the amount of Oxygen in each glass of water. Making this the highest Anti-Oxidant liquid you can drink.
