Several years ago my daughter Emily and I had an accidental day at the bottom of the world when we arrived a day early in Ushia to pick up a cruise in route from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Valparaiso, Chile. We certainly made the best of it checking in the HMS Beagle Hotel named after the ship Charles Darwin made famous passing through the similarly named Beagle Channel. What a great day it was.

Nicaragua has opened a new international study center designed to train engineers from Central America and the Caribbean in broadband technology.
The center, where as many as 12,000 engineers are be trained in the near future, is partly funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as part of its broader plan to bolster Internet services across Latin America.
The IDB and South Korea have lent US$3.2 million to fund the center, which is in the Nicaraguan capital Managua.
There is exciting news to report on the international flights to/from Belize. As the tourism numbers continue to grow, the international airlines operating in Belize have recognized the demand for increased airlifts to Belize.
Delta has responded by implementing additional flights through the Atlanta route to Belize. Starting mid-December, 2014, Delta will increase its Atlanta-Belize frequencies from 8 flights a week to 12. These additions will represent 596 seats more per week for the high season from this key gateway. The airline will also resume its Saturday non-stop Los Angeles – Belize flight on November 7, which is seven weeks earlier than last year and represents an additional 160 seats per week from the west coast of the USA for November and December.
